Taking It On The Road ~ Pleasanton Antiques & Collectibles Faire

What makes a "good day" for you? Is it time spent with people who "get" you? Is it participating in something you love in a place of comforting welcome?

If you're anything like us--you love antiques, vintage treasures and fun, creative people! Which is why we always love to represent both Paris Flea Market and Room With A Past at all the local fairs where there are just that!

Most recently we set up shop at the Pleasanton Antiques & Collectibles Faire on May 25th, and look who tagged along:

We rarely go without CeCe Caldwell's Paints, even when we're on the road. We really love this paint and are excited about spreading the word! We took a TON of furniture and smaller items painted with it to show off and sell!

Meanwhile, in the time it took three hard-working, ever-smilin' consignors to set up and break down the booth, (about an hour and a half) in a living room on the other side of the county, consignor Pam Lawrence (AKA Grand Master of Re-funkification, Pam-lo!)  managed to completely transform this formerly plain white dresser with her super secret custom "Pam's Grey" (see recipe below) from this:

Cute enough, but a little too "young girly" for Pam!

Now we're getting somewhere...

Into THIS!

And there's the OOH LA LA we needed!

Shhhh...don't tell. Well, OK, please DO tell and send them here to get it!

1/2 C Seattle Mist
1/2 C Simply or Vintage White

1 Tbsp. Memphis Blue

Finish with Clear Wax for a smooth protective surface!

She's A Lady

Back before Tom Jones was a superstar and ladies needed a writing desk is when this beauty came to be:

With its demure features, room enough for a big puffy Victorian dress, and two little drawers on top for gloves, this sweet little desk was built to last, lucky for those of us who would prefer to keep such beauty out of the landfill!

This little lady was given a coat of CeCe Caldwell's Seattle Mist, then a careful hand detailed its finer points (don't you love this flower basket carving??) in Vintage White.

An easy bit of wet-rag distressing and a coat of durable CeCe Caldwell's Clear Wax and she's all said and done!

Yes, But Does He Have A Brother?

You may remember an older post where I talked about a good lookin' hunk o' wood at Room With A Past. Sometimes good things come in two's! Today I'd love to introduce you to the brother from the same mother:

He's tall, dark and riddled with fake worm holes. Not to worry, he'll clean up nice and then be given the same CeCe Caldwell Vintage White massage and makeover.  Lest the wonderful hardware be lost when removed; just paint right on over it! Rub him down here and there (bow chicka wow wow), give him a coat of clear wax and...

 "Hey Sailor!"

Putting Up Walls and Painting CeCe Murals On Them!

Have you seen the new warehouse space at Paris Flea Market in Livermore? It's just next door! It's a fabulous extra 1500 square feet that owner Susan Goodman has pulled together. Within these new walls, she runs it like a regular flea market/swap meet and rents out space to anyone who has cleaned out granny's attic, makes cool stuff or is letting go of some of thier vintage items. Each seller can rent a table from month-to-month, set their own prices and even bargain with customers! It's a great way to have a short commitment shop of your own!

And if you know Susan, you know she doesn't do anything half way! She hired a fabulously talented muralist who has painted a huge stretch of wall to look like an actual French Flea Market using CeCe Caldwell's Paints!

I love how she shaded with the paints to make this flat wall POP!

Here is the artist Jessica Scoles and husbandly helper! She wields a paintbrush like a second hand! There is nothing this gal cannot do.

And she finished it just in time for our visit from CeCe Caldwell herself! I think she will be blown away when she sees it for our May Fundraiser--it's a CeCe Caldwell Paint workshop! The workshop is full, but we've always got something going on. You can check out the Paris Flea Market Classes page to find out more.
